
Katina Potts, MBA, is a former financial advisor, entrepreneur, and teacher who is passionate about teaching young people how to manage money the right way. Katina graduated with honors from Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in Finance. She continued her education at Dallas Baptist University, earning a Master of Business Administration with a dual concentration in Management and Marketing.
In addition to being an author, Katina is a devoted mother, wife, preacher, teacher, speaker, and serial entrepreneur. She has been an entrepreneur for more than half of her life and has worked in the finance industry in various roles for over 20 years. Beginning in 1997, she served as a financial advisor in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, conducting numerous seminars and workshops throughout the metroplex. In 2019, she transitioned from teaching at Dallas County Community Colleges and managing her residential maid service business to begin a new chapter in Apollo Beach, Florida, in the Tampa Bay area.
She is a proud 32-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., through which she continues to give back to the community with dedicated volunteer service. Teaching and equipping others is her passion, and she has shared her knowledge with students and organizations across Dallas County Community Colleges, chambers of commerce, churches, the Girl Scouts of America, and numerous businesses.
Most importantly, Katina is the wife of Dr. Earl Potts, Sr., and the mother of Earl Potts, Jr., and the late Sierra Earlece Potts. She credits her mother, Mary Harris, and her aunt, Gladys Smith-Coward, as her strongest supporters. Her family and her ministry bring her the greatest joy.
